If everything produces after its kind... then what kind are you?
Before you start lying—just remember: we can see you.
Everything in nature tells us this truth: apple seeds don’t grow oranges, and orange seeds don’t grow plums. A seed always reproduces after its kind. Over and over again.
So why do we keep expecting something different to grow from us when we haven’t changed what’s being planted?
A lot of what we see in our lives is just the fruit of the kind of seed we received—or the kind of ground we’ve allowed ourselves to be.
Polluted ground produces polluted fruit.
So I’m asking this seriously. When you look at your results—your relationships, your thoughts, your peace, your influence—what kind are you? Because we’re all producing something, whether or not we want to admit it.
"Be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."
The word harmless in that verse? In the Greek, it means unmixed. Uncontaminated.
You can be wise to the systems—but you can’t let them mix with you. Because then you’ll keep reproducing the same fruit they do.
That’s why Jesus says the things He says:
Deny yourself.
Lose your life to find it.
Let go of what you think you need in order to follow Me.
Not because He’s trying to make life hard. But because He knows what it takes to clean the ground and change the seed.
If the fruit you’re after is called clarity—you’ll need to plant clear seeds. If it’s peace—you’ll need peace in the soil.
But if we keep holding onto mixed motives, cluttered convictions, selfish pursuits, and contaminated patterns—we’ll keep getting what we’ve always gotten. That’s not judgment. That’s just agriculture.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit.
A bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
We keep calling it deep. We keep calling it spiritual. We keep trying to overthink it. But Jesus made it simple.
You’re going to produce after your kind.
So again I ask:
What kind are you?
Let’s not just ask the question. Let’s become the answer.
