DAY 23: It’s Not Out of the Norm
Reading Luke 23-24 & John 1
Welcome to Day 23 of the RedIn30 Reading Cycle.
Today’s reading takes us through Luke chapters 23–24 and John chapter 1, and continues our theme of reestablishing the norm.
It is not out of the norm for those around you to want to crucify you—even when you’ve done nothing but good works.
Sometimes that’s the response you get for doing what aligns with God—because your life looks different. And when something doesn’t fit the norm of the culture around you, people try to get rid of it.
But just like Jesus, it’s also not out of the norm to rise again.
After the crucifixion comes resurrection. That was the glory. The cross wasn’t the end—it was the start of the glorified version of Jesus.
And before He ascended to heaven, He revealed Himself to others and spoke with them—reaffirming their faith and preparing them to carry forward what had been started.
Then in John chapter 1, the message goes even deeper.
We’re told:
He was the light of the world… and He lighteth every man that comes into the world.
This means the light was never exclusive to one man.
Jesus didn’t create the light in you—He revealed it. The light of God was already in us. His identity ignited that light—reminding us who we really are as one with God.
