DAY 14: What is valuable?
Reading Mark 12-14
Today’s reading is Mark chapters 12-14. What do you see Jesus reestablishing as the norm?
From my view of these three chapters, I see that Jesus is reestablishing the norm of value.
From rendering unto Caesar what is his to rendering unto to God what, or rather who, is His. Also, referring to the widow's mite in chapter 12, we see that giving ALL is the expectation and is what actually gives value in God's eyes!
In chapter 13, Jesus shows us that simple signs and wonders do not necessarily equal the value of being Christ.
In chapter 14, the woman anointed Jesus with a very precious and expensive ointment, which some explain as being worth a year's wages. The disciples thought this was a waste! They were thinking of it the normal way. They lacked perception in what's actually valuable to Jesus.
When you read about these stories today, think about what Jesus is reestablishing as value, and build your perception on that.
Enjoy today’s reading.
