DAY 12: Jesus as the Blueprint of God in the Flesh
Reading Mark 6-8
Welcome to Day Twelve of the RedIn30 Reading Cycle
Today’s reading is Mark chapters 6–8, and as we continue this journey, our theme remains the same: reestablishing the norm.
If you pay close attention to how Jesus moves throughout these chapters, something powerful comes into focus.
Often, we’ve been taught to deify Jesus so much that we overlook what He’s actually showing us—not just about Himself, but about us.
If we recognize that Jesus is giving us a clear picture of what it looks like for a human to be one with God—what it looks like for God to live fully in the flesh—then His actions, words, and even reactions take on a whole new meaning.
They’re not just miraculous events to admire from a distance. They are a recalibration of how we think, feel, and respond as humans created in God’s image.
From chapter 6 to chapter 8, Jesus models this over and over again:
After hearing the news of John the Baptist’s beheading, He doesn’t spiral or retreat in despair. Instead, He moves forward with compassion, immediately feeding the crowds who had been following Him and tarrying with Him for a long time.
He restores sight to the blind, showing that wholeness and healing are not extraordinary events, but the normal expression of God’s presence in a person’s life.
Then He does something that might seem strange to us: after healing the blind man, He tells him,
“Don’t go back. Don’t tell anyone.”
At first glance, this instruction might feel counterintuitive. But this too reveals something deeper about the normal functioning of humility—how God works things out quietly and powerfully, both inside us and through us.
When we read these stories as a blueprint—not just of what Jesus did, but of what life looks like for those who are one with God—we begin to see the real goal:
To reestablish the normal.
This isn’t about striving for an extraordinary spiritual life.
This is about returning to the design where God’s nature flows naturally through us.
So as you read Mark 6–8 today, watch closely. Notice how Jesus reacts, how He moves, and how He speaks.
He is showing us not only who He is—but also who we are meant to be.
Enjoy today’s reading.
