DAY 10: Living from the Ease of Oneness with God
Reading Matthew 28 & Mark 1-2
It’s Day Ten! Today’s reading takes us from the end of Matthew into the beginning of Mark.
This month’s theme is still front and center: reestablishing the norm.
Matthew closes with the grand story of Jesus rising from the dead. And in this pivotal moment, Jesus makes what I keep calling a normal statement: “All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth.” He doesn’t stop there. He commissions us—the listeners, the believers—to go and do the same things He did.
In other words, He’s saying: “It’s not just Me. It’s you as well.” This is how it was always meant to be. This is the normal way God planned it.
As we move into Mark chapters 1 and 2, Jesus immediately begins healing people. A man asks Him: “Will You make me clean?”
Jesus responds simply: “I will.” And He does it—effortlessly.
This isn’t presented as something extraordinary or otherworldly. It’s shown as the way things are supposed to be.
Jesus says: “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand. Believe the gospel.”
What is the gospel? It’s the good news. And what’s the good news? That all the striving—all the work we’ve been doing to try to “be holy” or to “stay in the will of God”—that endless cycle that so often leaves us frustrated and failing—that’s not normal.
The truth is: You are one with God. If you can rest in the ease of this identity, you’ll begin to recognize who you really are. And then, the power that flows from the Father will flow freely through you.
In Mark chapter 2, Jesus also shows us something profound about forgiveness. He declares that He has been given the power to forgive sins. And in doing so, He reveals a deeper truth: Forgiveness is a superpower.
It’s not something external you have to search for. It’s not a specialty or a rare ability. Forgiveness is already in your hands. It’s not a novelty. It’s a normalcy. When someone offends you, transgresses against you, or does you wrong, the normal thing—the Kingdom response—is to forgive. Why? Because you don’t have to fight. You don’t have to retaliate. You don’t even have to be upset.
Oneness with God means your emotions, your feelings, your will, and your intellect are aligned and even-keeled with His identity. And that’s all that matters.
As you read Matthew 28 and Mark 1–2 today, let this settle deep: This is not about extraordinary feats or impossible standards.
This is about living from the ease of oneness with God—where power and forgiveness flow naturally as part of who you are. Enjoy today’s reading
