This whole conversation centers on instinct, but not just natural instinct—God’s original instinct placed inside of you from the beginning. The idea is that Jesus didn’t come just to inform your intellect, but to awaken your origin. Every time He speaks, He’s speaking to who you were before anything got added on—before fear, before culture, before learned behavior. That’s why words like recover, redeem, and repent matter so much—they all point back to returning, not becoming something new. And the tension we feel in life often comes from this clash between our learned intellect and our God-given instinct.

The problem is, we’ve been trained to live from intellect first—logic, reaction, survival, emotion—but God is constantly trying to trigger something deeper. That’s why situations feel like pressure. That’s why life “shakes.” It’s not random—it’s intentional. It’s the “prick.” It’s that internal push that aggravates something inside you, trying to wake up what God already put there. And most of the time, we resist it. We pray against it. We rebuke it. But in reality, that pressure is trying to extract the instinct of God from within you. Just like a seed has to be buried to grow, there are environments designed to pull something out of you that you didn’t even know you had.

And this is where Jesus becomes the perfect example—not just because of what He said, but because of what He embodied. He didn’t just explain truth—He demonstrated it. He didn’t just teach love—He lived it. He didn’t just talk about sacrifice—He became it. Which reveals something powerful: explanation reaches the mind, but example awakens instinct. That’s why your life is meant to be lived, not just explained. The goal isn’t to talk people into truth—it’s to live in a way that pricks something inside them without you even trying.

At the core of all of this is responsibility. The kingdom isn’t somewhere out there—it’s within. And that means you are responsible for what sits on the throne of your mind. If you don’t take that seat, something else will. Old ideas, trauma, other people’s voices, culture—something will govern you if you don’t. And sometimes God will allow chaos, pressure, or disruption just to knock the wrong thing off the throne. That’s the “sabotaging mediocrity” moment. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s necessary.

Because who you think you are right now is nothing compared to who God knows you are. And the only way to discover that isn’t through more information—it’s through experience. Through situations. Through pressure. Through moments that force something deeper to rise up. That’s where the real transformation happens. Not in what you hear—but in what gets activated.

Subscribe now

Deja Vu

What if I told you… you’re not far?

What if I told you… you’re not far? Like for real — you’re not behind, you’re not distant, you’re not trying to “get to God”… you’re this close. That’s the shift this whole episode is pushing, because most of us have been conditioned to think we’re far off — like we gotta jump through spiritual hoops, fix everything about ourselves, clean everything up, and then maybe we can get close. But Jesus doesn’t talk like that. He doesn’t treat you like a stepchild, and He doesn’t treat you like you’re outside trying to get in. He’s constantly revealing that you’re already in it. The real issue isn’t distance… it’s awareness. Because everything comes back to alignment. Sin isn’t just “doing bad stuff,” it’s being out of alignment with the mind of God that’s already in you. And once you see that, everything changes, because now it’s not about fixing behavior — it’s about recognizing identity.

That’s why the conversation shifted into something powerful: if thinking something in your heart already makes it real, then your actions aren’t leading your life — your being is. We’ve been trying to fix hands when the hands are just following the heart. Dogs bark. Birds chirp. Bees buzz. They don’t need lessons, they don’t need motivation, they don’t need behavior correction. They just are. So the real question becomes: who are you? Because if you don’t know that, you’ll spend your life trying to become something you already are. And that’s where conditioning comes in. Everything you’ve been through — your environment, your upbringing, what you’ve heard, what you’ve seen — it’s all shaped how you think. But now, you have the ability to curate your condition. You can choose what you hear, what you see, who you’re around, what you allow to shape you. And that’s where alignment becomes intentional, because God’s not trying to make you something new — He’s revealing what’s already true.

That’s why He says “I AM.” Not “I will be,” not “I used to be” — right now. And when that hits you, it feels like déjà vu, like “wait… I’ve been here before.” Not physically, but internally, like something in you is recognizing what’s always been true. That moment where you realize, “I’m not trying to be a part of this… I am a part of this.” And from there, everything shifts. You stop striving, you stop overthinking, you stop trying to prove something, because the ego is what keeps you out of alignment — always trying to earn, prove, and perform. But alignment is simple: you’re already somebody. So now it’s not about doing… it’s about agreeing. God’s terms and conditions are simple — He’s looking for Himself in you. And when you start seeing that, you stop trying to learn something new, and you start finding yourself.

Subscribe now

Conditions

DM Thompson

Beyond Intellect

What if Jesus wasn’t talking to your mind?

What if Jesus wasn’t talking to your mind?

What if He was talking past it?

Past your intellect.
Past what you think you know.
Past your logic, your reasoning, your “how.”

What if He was speaking to something deeper — your instinct?

This episode flips the way we’ve been hearing God. Because most of us have been trained to live from intellect — analyzing, calculating, trying to figure everything out. But Jesus didn’t operate like that. His instructions were unorthodox. Fill water pots when you need wine. Cast your net again after catching nothing. Tell a lame man to get up and walk. None of it makes sense… if you’re listening with your intellect.

But it wasn’t meant to.

Because intellect can only take you as far as intellect goes. And most of the time, it keeps you stuck — rehearsing the same limitations, the same explanations, the same cycles. The lame man had a full explanation for why he couldn’t be healed. It sounded logical. It sounded right. But it kept him stuck.

Then Jesus speaks one sentence — “Take up your bed and walk.”

That wasn’t intellectual language. That was instinct.

It bypassed his reasoning and hit something deeper — something already wired inside of him. The part of him that already knew how to get up. The part of him that didn’t need to be taught. The part of him that was made in the image of God.

That’s how Jesus speaks.

He speaks past your arguments.
Past your excuses.
Past your “this is how it’s always been.”

And if you try to meet Him with intellect, you’ll argue with the very thing sent to free you.

That’s why the shift is this:

Stop trying to figure it out — and start recognizing it.

Because when instinct speaks, it doesn’t explain.
It moves.
Immediately.
Without hesitation.

And the more you humble yourself — “I don’t know nothing” — the more you become sensitive to that voice.

That’s where real faith is.

Not overthinking. Not calculating. But responding.

Because sometimes the breakthrough isn’t on the other side of more understanding…

It’s on the other side of movement without explanation.

Subscribe now

LoveSet

DM Thompson

Easy Peace

Peace is primary.

Peace is primary.

But not just any peace — His peace. Because there’s a difference. There’s a kind of peace the world gives, and then there’s the peace Jesus leaves. And if you’re not careful, you can be walking in something that feels like peace but isn’t actually peaceful at all.

The shift happens in a simple realization: you don’t have to know it all. That pressure — to have every answer, to figure everything out, to control every outcome — is what disturbs your peace. But the Kingdom was never designed for you to carry that weight. “Give us this day our daily bread.” Not tomorrow’s answers. Not yesterday’s understanding. Just what’s needed for today. The moment you release the need to know everything, peace returns.

That’s where “submitted doing” comes in. Subdue isn’t just force — it’s doing from a submitted place. You don’t have to master everything up front. You stay connected to the One who knows it all. You move as you hear. You act as you’re led. Just like being placed in a garden — you don’t need a manual for every step. You get in the mix, plant the seed, and as you go, it begins to come to you.

And that’s the difference between striving and flow.

The world teaches you to force outcomes, stack knowledge, and control results. But Jesus shows a different way — “I can of my own self do nothing.” That’s not weakness. That’s alignment. That’s the kind of peace that doesn’t rush, doesn’t panic, and doesn’t perform under pressure. Because it’s not trying to make something happen — it’s allowing God to flow through it.

You weren’t designed to figure everything out.

You were designed to submit and flow.

Subscribe now

Instinctual Intellect ft Rico

Something got severed.

Something got severed.

Instinct and intellect were always meant to work together, but somewhere along the way they got separated. What should be operating as one system inside of us now functions like two opposing forces. The intellect tries to lead, analyze, and control everything, while the instinct—the God nature embedded inside of us—gets pushed into the background. But when Jesus speaks, He constantly demonstrates a different way of living. He moves from instinct. He hears and responds. He acts from alignment instead of overthinking the outcome.

The instinct of God already lives inside of us. Just like animals instinctively know how to survive, camouflage, breathe, and respond to danger without thinking about it, humanity carries an embedded awareness of God. But intellect—conditioning, culture, fear, statistics, and past experiences—often overrides that instinct. Instead of letting intuition guide intellect, we flip the order and let intellect hold the reins. That’s like letting the horse ride the rider. It’s powerful, but without the right guidance it will run you into the ground.

Jesus shows the opposite. His instinct always holds the reins. When thousands needed food, the intellect asked “how.” The instinct already knew. When people asked Him what to say or do, He responded with alignment to the Father: “I can of mine own self do nothing… as I hear, I judge.” That’s instinctual living—moving from the embedded God nature rather than trying to manufacture outcomes.

So the question becomes: what is shaping your intellect?

Because your curriculum becomes your current.

Every day we’re enrolling ourselves in a school. What we read, watch, scroll, and listen to becomes the pathway our mind runs on. That current eventually becomes our currency—what flows out of us naturally. That’s why keeping the red words of Jesus as the curriculum matters. Not as religion, but as a lifelong alignment process. When instinct and intellect come back into harmony, something powerful happens: you stop trying to manufacture life and start becoming a pipeline for it. You stop trying to control everything and start allowing God to steer through you.

And when God puts the reins on you, you begin to put the reins on life.

Subscribe now

River Runs

There’s a reservoir of God on the inside of you.

There’s a reservoir of God on the inside of you.

Not a metaphor.
Not motivational language.

A reservoir.

From the beginning, when God breathed into man, He deposited something of Himself. A storehouse. A supply. A reserve of the nature of God inside humanity. The Kingdom within you. The mind of Christ inside you. The potential for God’s results operating through a human life.

transcript_2026-03-05T17_21_05.…

But the question isn’t whether it’s there.

The question is whether it’s flowing.

A reservoir stores water.
A river moves it.

Jesus said the one who believes will have rivers of living water flowing out of them — not sitting inside of them. And that means the issue isn’t supply. The issue is flow.

What turns a reservoir into a river?

Pressure.

A pump.

You have to prime the well.

The same way you pump a well until the water starts rising from deep underground, you prime your consciousness. Reading. Studying. Thinking. Staying in the red words. Keeping your mind pointed in the same direction until pressure builds and something begins to move.

Your mind becomes the pump.

But the river doesn’t move because of the pump alone. Rivers move because of gravity — a pull deeper than human effort. And that’s where the real mystery is.

Your priming meets God’s pulling.

Your consciousness aligns with God’s gravity.

And suddenly what was stored inside of you begins to flow out of you.

That’s why the goal isn’t to hoard the reservoir. Still water grows algae. It gets stale. It requires constant maintenance. But a river constantly refreshes itself. It cleans itself. It carries life wherever it goes.

God never intended you to be a storage tank.

You were designed to be a flow.

And the moment you stop trying to control the water and start aligning with the current, the river will take you places you could never reach on your own.

Subscribe now

Music: Love Spot

This is out now! In music, it’s the pocket — that groove where everything locks in. But in life, the system is always trying to shift you just a little off your spot. Not enough to ruin you. Just enough to make you less effective.

This episode reframes that sweet spot as your Love Spot — the identity of God expressed as you. Love isn’t a feeling. It’s not mushy emotion. “God is love” means love is identity. And when you live from that identity — when you think the thoughts that flow from Him — you become unstoppable. Like Kobe on the elbow. Like Steph from range. It’s not about talent alone; it’s about repetition in the right place. Practice in the right spot. Submission to the mission you were sent for.

The system doesn’t want you bad. It just doesn’t want you in your spot. Because in your spot, you impose will. You don’t play defense. You move forward. “The gates of hell shall not prevail” means you’re advancing. Slack in your soul creates lack in your life. Too much space, and the enemy scores. But when you eliminate the slack and tighten into your identity — childlike, burning, submitted — you hit that place where your will is aligned with His will. That’s the Love Spot. That’s the God Spot. That’s where your percentage goes up.

Subscribe now

Tacit Approval : Not Interested

This episode pivots around one phrase: tacit approval — agreeing to something through silence, inaction, or implication.

DM Thompson

This episode pivots around one phrase: tacit approval — agreeing to something through silence, inaction, or implication. The algorithm analogy sets it up: you scroll past something long enough, and it assumes you want it. You never said yes. You never hit like. But you didn’t say “not interested” either. And the system reads that as approval.

The same thing happens in your soul.

Thoughts scroll through your mind every day. Some loud. Some subtle. Some obviously wrong. Some that look almost right — just a small twist at the end. And if you don’t confront them, your conscience starts filing them as acceptable. Your mind is waiting on leadership. Are we standing with this? Are we going this way? Or are we casting this down? Silence trains your soul. If you don’t answer a thought, it may assume you agree.

The episode deepens with the story of “money really goes.” A casual statement. A neutral response. But heaven treated it like agreement. That’s the weight of tacit approval. It’s not just about arguing with people — it’s about answering your own thoughts. “Get behind me.” “Not interested.” “That’s not my portion.” You don’t scroll past darkness. You speak to it. Like the Father over the void — He didn’t comment on the darkness. He shaped it. Light.

You were made in His image to take, shape, and make. So when lower-level thinking, lack, fear, sickness, or confusion tries to sit in your scroll, you don’t let it live rent free. You speak. You lead. You give your soul direction. Because whatever you don’t reject, you risk rehearsing.

Subscribe now

Tacit Approval (Short)

Full Pod dropping at 6:30 cst!

DM Thompson

Full Pod dropping at 6:30 cst!

YT viewers can watch full pod at www.DonavanMontrell.com

Change The Order

Sometimes you’re not lazy.

DM Thompson

Sometimes you’re not lazy.

You’re not undisciplined.
You’re not uncommitted.

You’re just out of order.

This episode begins with a personal health journey — stress, cortisol, stubborn fat, walking after meals — but quickly reveals a bigger truth: you can be doing the right things in the wrong sequence and never see the results you’re supposed to see. Same plate. Different order. Same numbers. Wrong sequence. And the lock won’t open.

The kingdom works like that.

The Lord’s Prayer is in order.
“Seek ye first” is in order.
“Take up your bed and walk” is in order.
“Fill the water pots… then serve” is in order.

Jesus didn’t come to destroy the pieces — He came to fulfill them by restoring order. You can have all the right ingredients — prayer, worship, discipline, good intentions — but if they’re out of order, you won’t get flow. A con isn’t just theft — it’s the art of shifting someone’s confidence. A real con artist doesn’t take from you by force. They study you. They learn what you believe in. They discover where your confidence lives. Then they mold themselves into the image of that confidence until you willingly transfer trust, belief, energy, and resources into their hands. They don’t steal it — you give it.

The conversation moves from movie analogy to spiritual revelation. The first con in scripture wasn’t loud — it was subtle. “Surely you won’t die.” It was a shift of confidence. Humanity already bore God’s image, but the enemy shifted their confidence from who they were to who they could “be.” That same artistry continues today — in culture, relationships, ambition, religion, even church. We can be conned by systems. We can con others. And most dangerously, we can con ourselves.

Peter’s moment with Jesus exposes the mechanism. One moment he confesses truth with confidence. The next, he attempts to shift Jesus’ confidence away from the cross. “Get behind me, Satan.” Why? Because confidence misplaced becomes an offense. Self-preservation becomes the con. The illusion that we can protect, produce, or preserve ourselves is the greatest scam. True confidence is singular: “This is the confidence we have in Him.” When confidence shifts from God-in-us to self-preservation or external validation, the con is complete.

The freedom? Deny the false self. Die to the con. Realign confidence to the will of God. Because you cannot con truth — you must become it.

<div class="community-chat" What does it mean to “neither give place”? It means don’t give it a seat. Don’t let it get a feature on the album of your life. Using the music industry analogy, the conversation unpacks how producers fight for placement on an album because placement brings royalties, influence, and identification. In the same way, thoughts, rhythms, fears, relationships, and cultural narratives fight for placement in your heart. And once something gets placement, it gets plays — every time your life runs, that track runs with it.

The focus shifts from morality to alignment. This isn’t about being “good” or “bad.” It’s about the God-version of you — the sharp, aware, maximized version — versus the dulled, synced, system-shaped version. Music, inebriation, fear, and even popular narratives can act like a subtle potion for perception, slowly syncing you to a rhythm that isn’t yours. Guarding your heart means protecting your ear gate and eye gate because whatever enters your heart will issue your life. If something has gotten placement, it doesn’t have to stay. Albums can be remixed. Tracks can be deleted. When you submit your heart back to the Producer, the original sound — the version God wrote — begins to play again.

Subscribe now

The Search Sets the Timeline

This episode centers on one core idea: the search sets your timeline. It challenges the listener to reconsider what they’re actually seeking, because whatever you draw nigh to begins drawing nigh to you. Alignment becomes the anchor word — sin isn’t just morality, it’s misalignment. Anything outside the will of God is missing the mark. The conversation reframes prayer, success, desire, and even ambition through this lens. If you’re operating outside alignment, even if you’re winning by the world’s standards, you could be thriving in the wrong lane.

Using the algorithm metaphor, the episode makes it plain: your timeline reflects your search history. What you scroll, what you seek, what you desire — it all magnetizes more of itself into your life. Just like social media feeds you what you interact with, life feeds you what you pursue. The river imagery deepens this: there are many streams, but only one current leads to life. When you enter the river of God’s will, it carries you further than your own strength ever could. It’s not about trying Jesus like a product — it’s about recognizing that what He says is not trial-and-error; it is reality.

The most confrontational moment comes around desire. Desire is called the strongest drug. More potent than substances, because it quietly determines your decisions. You can’t be whatever you want — but you can be exactly who you were sent to be. The episode presses into identity over personality, individuality over performance. When alignment happens, something shifts internally. The pump analogy explains it: keep pressing into truth long enough and pressure builds — then the water flows. Out of you begins to flow rivers of living water. The right stream. Too settled. Too locked into your own rhythm. And what you actually need isn’t more affirmation — you need a menace. The idea unfolds that Jesus wasn’t soft, safe, or sentimental. He was disruptive. He was a menace to comfort, a menace to mediocrity, a menace to the way we think things are supposed to go. From telling the rich young ruler to sell everything, to calling out “O ye of little faith,” to flipping the entire concept of rest by saying “take my yoke,” Jesus consistently agitates lower-level thinking. He confronts intellect, hustle culture, religious performance, and self-made identity. He doesn’t just comfort you — He uproots you.

The metaphor deepens into “Menace Tree” — drawn from John 15. He’s the vine. The Father is the husbandman. Branches that bear fruit get purged. Branches that don’t get cut off. That’s not passive — that’s pruning, tilling, cutting, sharpening. The red words aren’t decorative; they’re disruptive. They flood you from within, replacing habits and identities not by force, but by revelation. Instead of multiple streams of income, the focus becomes multiple streams of outcome — letting the river flow out of you rather than constantly pulling things in. Submission becomes the key. Not mission field — submission field. Not five-year plans — “give us this day our daily bread.” The menace isn’t destruction; it’s cultivation. If you let Him ruffle your feathers, shake your plans, and sabotage your mediocrity, you discover that the agitation was always for growth. He’s not attacking you — He’s elevating you.

Subscribe now
